Part two:
The story so far: Pamela Stephenson, wife of Billy Connolly, is suddenly and mysteriously obsessed with the fate of her great-great grandfather, "Salty" Sam Stephenson, who disappeared in Indonesia. He was either thrown aboard after a mutiny on his ship, the Rosalie or murdered by pirates, depending on who's telling the story. Pamela "can't bear not knowing", so she gathers the crew of her luxury yacht, the Takapuna, Russ gathers the usual crowd to do research/logistics and they set off to the Spice Islands to track him down.

Russ takes a detour to Mauritius, where the Rosalie was built, to find out what she was like.

Hot and sweaty and probably exhausted, greeting Pamela in Indonesia.

Tired eye-rubbing.

They all look at the research from Mauritius.

"Did you mean contraceptive or antiseptic?" "Antiseptic, sorry." "Contraceptive's something different..."

Mmmm, the hands-in approach to eating watermelon.

Approx 4am. The man who confuses contraceptives with antiseptic will make them all honourary citizens of the island of which he is King if they will climb the volcano and swim along the bay. This offer appears to be open to all, not just film crews. So they set off in the middle of the night, probably a little drunk.

Making their way up the volcano.

The bits when they do things like this are far more interesting than the bits with Pamela's quest, obviously.

Having completed their quest, here is the citizenship presentation ceremony.

Hey, desert island! Let's play Lord of the Flies!

One of the scenes I'm delighted to see made it from book to screen: Russ with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a machete in the other.

Russ genuinely seems to believe in ghosts, and that he has captured spirits on camera. He's a believer who's not scared of them, whereas I'm a total non-believer who would nonetheless be petrified in a haunted house.
