Almost done

Fifteen episodes down, one to go. Only the last ever episode of Life on Mars to transcribe now.

When I'm done with that, tomorrow or Friday, I will probably start working on Torchwood transcripts. I've already done two of them, the last two and I think I'll do the others. And after that, maybe I'll do Robin Hood. But let's not look that far ahead yet.

Date: 2007-04-28 03:54 am (UTC)I love this show, but I've only actually seen the first episode. I've subscribed to BBC America in the patient hope that they will show it again but, honestly, it's your transcripts that have kept my fannish love alive. I've spent all week trying not to be spoiled for the finale, and just wandered over to The Annotated Martian to see if maybe there were a few new transcripts and, look! Almost all of season two, with promises of the coveted finale to come! My weekend, my month of May, suddenly look much, much brighter. Thank you!
(btw, the transcript of S2, Ep3 is titled "Series One, Episode Two")
Thanks again. If I had a puppy, I'd give it to you. Well, not really. I'd let you play with it, though. If I had chocolate, I'd definitely give it to you.

Date: 2009-11-30 04:48 am (UTC)Your transcripts have given me great joy, by the way! Aside from the actual dialogue, I love your directorial asides/narrative descriptions (or whatever the heck they're called in drama-ese). They really bring the transcripts to life.

Date: 2009-12-02 10:31 pm (UTC)I don't know exactly what happened but somehow, I stopped after 2x07, stupid thing to do. Well, I started it (much much later than the others) but I never finished it. And because I'm paranoid about losing things in crashes, I keep next to nothing on my computer's internal hard drive, keep it all on an external drive instead. Cue external drive crash last June, so even the half-finished transcript is lost.
I know I'm never going to get round to doing it again so if you'd like to, please help yourself and finally, a full set will exist!
I'm glad people are still appreciating the transcripts that I did bother finishing, by the way, so thank you!
(Of course, it's been so long since I actually used the site that I probably won't be able to remember my username and password...)

Date: 2009-12-06 06:09 pm (UTC)LOM 2x08 is ready to go!
Date: 2010-03-10 06:44 am (UTC)Well, it took me a while, but I just finished the transcript for LOM 2x08. I'll probably give it one or two final read-throughs, to look for any undetected typos (and to tighten up the "screen directions" a bit), but it's essentially complete.
You know, it was surprisingly difficult to write up. It's not exactly my favourite episode -- so much unrelieved grimness and angst, with precious little humour to leaven it. On the other hand, I felt much more sympathetic towards Sam by the time I'd finished. He wasn't very easy to like in this ep (especially following the sublime 2x07), but transcribing the episode forced me to see/relive it through Sam's eyes more acutely than I had done before. For example, I hadn't noticed that just before Sam awakens in 2006, there are two voices are calling "Sam, please come back" - his mother and Annie - pulling him in two opposing directions, and ultimately (arguably) pulling him apart.
Anyway, this is mainly to say that it should be ready to upload by the time you look up your username and password :-) Just let me know how I can get the HTML file to you!
P.S. Added you to my friends list to be on the safe side. Please don't feel any obligation to reciprocate (unless you really want to!); I mainly wanted to make sure I could track back to the right place. So far my own presence on LJ is pretty much limited to posting to Fans of Life on Mars ;-)

Date: 2010-03-28 07:49 am (UTC)I'm definitely still interested. I've just got back from holiday so give me a couple of days to get back into real life and I'll try to sort out the site during the week.

Date: 2010-03-29 07:26 am (UTC)No worries, please take your time relaxing back into real life. I'll be ready when you're ready. (Mainly I was just worried that I'd missed the window of opportunity!)
